Life in a low-return world as RBA official cash rate drops below 1 per cent (The Aust 05/10/19)

So we finally have rates at less than 1 per cent and already the market is speculating that there will be another cut in the fourth quarter this year — and one more in 2020.

For all of us, but especially for those who paid 18 per cent mortgage rates in the late 1980s, these are certainly unprecedented times. Who would have thought 30 years ago we could ever have zero interest rates in sight? However, I believe the reality is we need to get used to lower for longer.
