Hamilton Wealth Management in conjunction with Invesco hosted a fantastic dinner with Richard Murray, CEO of JB Hi-Fi, on Thursday 29th August 2019, at Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club, to discuss Retail in the new environment.

Richard is a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years’ experience in retail and finance.
Mr Murray joined JB Hi-Fi as CFO in 2003 and took the business through the IPO process.
After completing his degree at Melbourne University, Richard started his career at Deloitte as a cadet in the Audit division and progressed to the Corporate Finance group. Whilst at Deloitte, he worked with JB Hi-Fi management while preparing for the float and when the then CFO left the business, he accepted the position.
Richard was appointed to the Board of JB Hi-Fi in June 2012 and became CEO on 1 July 2014.
In 2016, JB acquired The Good Guys for $870m and post the acquisition, Richard has taken on the role of Group CEO overseeing both businesses and the respective Managing Directors.
He is currently Chairman of the Australian Charities Fund Employee Leadership Initiative, which aims to encourage Australian businesses to set up Workplace Giving Programs. To date JB Hi-Fi’s workplace giving program, Helping Hands, has over 80% staff participation and has raised more than $16m for its charity partners.
