Hit by poor investment returns and customer withdrawals, investors might have expected one of Australia’s most experienced retail investors to be all over financial advisers.
But for Will Hamilton, that’s not the case.
Named Australia’s second-ranked adviser in 2017 for helping clients invest almost $500 million, Hamilton hasn’t been pitched Perpetual’s Australian share funds, even though a lack of financial advisers’ interest is one of the famous company’s big problems.
“I have always thought it was a very good name,” Hamilton says. “I have been a bit surprised they have never tried to be in front of us. I think the bigger you get the worse you are at marketing.”
